2026 PGA Championship at Aronimink: Hiring & Volunteer Opportunities! (2026)

Get ready, Delaware County! In just a few months, an impressive influx of approximately 200,000 visitors will flock to Newtown Square for the highly anticipated 2026 PGA Championship at the historic Aronimink Golf Club. This major event is set to take place from May 11 to May 17, and it’s not just a chance to watch some of the world’s top golfers in action—it's also a significant opportunity for local employment.

The PGA of America is actively seeking assistance as it prepares for this monumental tournament. According to Emma Dooling's report in the Philadelphia Business Journal, they are on the lookout to fill around 250 positions across various roles including bartending, concessions, construction, carpentry, and more.

To make this happen, the PGA has introduced its JobMatch program, which is designed specifically for residents looking for short-term part-time or full-time work during the championship week. This initiative opens the door for locals to become part of this exciting event, with opportunities available not only during the tournament but also before and after. Interested individuals can apply for these positions until February 10. After this date, applicants can expect to hear back within a timeframe of 60 to 90 days.

But that's not all. The PGA has also initiated a VendorMatch program aimed at engaging subcontractors for the event, inviting participation from local businesses to ensure that the tournament benefits the community economically. This collaboration is anticipated to draw several dozen local companies into the mix.

The economic impact of the PGA Championship on the Philadelphia area is expected to be quite substantial, with estimates suggesting it could bring around $125 million to the region. Additionally, Championship Director Ryan Ogle noted that the tournament will also rely on an army of volunteers—up to 3,200 individuals—to help things run smoothly.

This championship will feature 156 professional golfers from around the globe, including 20 talented PGA America Golf Professionals.

If you want to know more about how this tournament will influence the local economy and what it means for the community, feel free to check out the detailed coverage in the Philadelphia Business Journal.
