Pura Collagen Launches GLPure+ & Pura Digest: Natural GLP-1 Alternative & Gut Health Solutions (2026)

Feeling the buzz around GLP-1 medications? Pura Collagen is stepping into the spotlight with a unique alternative, aiming to capitalize on the growing interest in this area. This bold move highlights the brand's commitment to innovation and customer needs. The startup, only five years young, has expanded its product line to a total of seven, showcasing the depth of thought behind each new offering.

Launched in January 2026, the GLPure+ powder contains 5,000mg of Nextida GC, a patented collagen peptide from Rousselot. This key ingredient is clinically proven to stimulate the body's natural GLP-1 hormone response and potentially reduce post-meal glucose spikes by up to 43%. But what exactly does this mean for you? Well, GLP-1 hormones play a crucial role in regulating blood sugar and controlling appetite.

This innovative formula doesn't stop there. It's packed with a metabolism-boosting blend including: chromium, which aids in macronutrient metabolism and blood glucose control; vitamin C, to support reduced fatigue and natural collagen formation; and zinc, which is linked to carbohydrate metabolism and overall metabolic function.

Jennifer Mo, the founder of Pura Collagen, was inspired by customer feedback and recent research.

"There was a tsunami wave of these GLP-1 medications last year and whenever I see a medication in high demand I tend to think about whether there’s a non-pharmaceutical alternative with clinical backing," she told NI.

Mo noticed customers expressing concerns about skin integrity and muscle tissue issues associated with GLP-1 medications, sparking the question: could collagen be a helpful addition? She always suggests customers consult their doctors, as the ingredients are clearly listed on the product packaging.

Research indicated that Nextida GC activates intestinal L- and K-cells, stimulating incretin hormones like GLP-1 and GIP, vital for glucose regulation and appetite control. Mo's focus shifted as she found more credible evidence of peptides' impact on the gut and hormone stimulation, leading her to explore this benefit further.

And this is the part most people miss...

Pura Collagen is also diving into the digestive health market, which is projected to double in value by 2032. They've launched Pura Digest to tackle bloating, irregularity, and digestive discomfort. The product combines 5g of hydrolyzed collagen peptides, clinically proven to strengthen the gut lining and combat leaky gut syndrome, with 5.5g of Biotis GOS to support microbiota balance, calcium for digestive enzyme function, and vitamin C for immune support and collagen production.

This product was developed after in-house research revealed that 44% of consumers experienced gut-related issues and 59% were interested in prebiotics and probiotics (based on a sample of 1,061 respondents). The goal is to reinforce the gut barrier and support the entire digestive tract.

But here's where it gets controversial...

Mo co-founded Pura in 2021 with two initial products, 'Glow+' and 'Flex+', focusing on collagen's well-known benefits for skin, hair, nails, and bone health. These remain the brand's bestsellers. The line has since expanded to include 'Sleep,' 'Balance,' and 'Protect' products, each targeting specific health needs. Pura Collagen is currently available in the UK, Benelux, and Dubai, with plans to expand into Switzerland by March 2026. The brand emphasizes its commitment to using pure, raw ingredients. However, they are also exploring convenient, on-the-go formats, such as individual sachets for GLPure+ and potential trials across their full range in Holland & Barrett Benelux.

Mo is optimistic about future innovations, fueled by growing research into collagen peptides.

Mo notes the brand’s ability to innovate is largely thanks to its acquisition by healthcare solutions company Vector Consumer Ltd in spring 2024.

"Coming into the Vector brand gave us breathing space and allowed us to negotiate terms that we couldn’t even entertain as a startup. We also went from a team of three, to a team of 22 with a marketing team, an E-Commerce team, and that means I can focus on doing what I love—innovation and product creation.”
